The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, February 21, 2011 Julia Fay Kendall March 18, 1964 - February 18, 2011 Julia Kendall, a Centre County, Pa., resident who later moved to the Phoenix, Ariz., area, died Feb. 18, 2011, at Banner Gateway Medical Center at the age of 46. Born in Bellefonte, Pa., Julia was the daughter of Bruce R. Kendall of State College, Pa., and Robin Kendall of Prescott, Ariz. She moved to Arizona in 1997, where she lived in the East Valley in Mesa and Gilbert over the past 14 years. Julia graduated from State College Area High School in 1982 and received a BS, and Masters Degree in Nursing from Penn State University. She worked as an LPN and later as RN in Centre County hospitals and rehabilitation centers and was employed by the School of Nursing at Penn State as a nursing instructor for several years. After moving to Chandler, Ariz., in 1997, she was a nursing instructor at several community colleges in the Phoenix and Mesa area. Many nursing students in Pennsylvania and Arizona benefited from her knowledge of medicine and high standards for patient care. She married Byron Bogenhagen in Sedona in June 2000; the couple later divorced. Julia traveled widely, visiting Japan and family members in Europe, Australia, the East Coast and California. She loved the outdoors, especially the Sedona and Oak Creek area, and enjoyed motorcycle riding. She also loved her two golden retrievers, CJ Louise and Sammy, who will miss her sorely. Her compassion, intelligence, feistiness and wit will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Julia is survived by her mother, Robin Kendall, of Prescott, Ariz.; her father, Bruce R. Kendall of State College, Pa.; her oldest sister Alison Kendall; brother-in-law Francois Bar; and her nephew and niece Nick and Jessica Kendall-Bar of Santa Monica; her sister Jennifer Kendall Kolln; brother-in-law John Kolln; and nieces, Jeannine and Ella Kolln of State College, Pa.; and her dear companion, Thomas Glynn of Gilbert, Ariz. A Memorial service and Celebration of Julia's Life will be at 3 p.m. on Feb. 26 2011, at the Granite Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Prescott, Ariz. Information provided by survivors.
