Pearl Wright died on Wednesday, March 2, at home. She was born on March 28, 1918, and lived her 92-plus years loving.
Mrs. Wright was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wis. She and her husband, Howard, moved to Arizona in 1973. Together, they lived in Sun City and then the Baptist Village. She continued living at the Baptist Village after her husband's death, until moving up to Flagstaff to be near her daughter and son-in-law.
She expressed her love of beauty and others through her painting, a lifelong hobby. Volunteering was another of her passions. From being the assistant Brownie leader for her daughter many years ago to, at age 90, working with third-graders in an after-school program in Youngtown.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her immediate family members, brother, mother and father; and many, many friends. She is survived by her son and daughter, Thomas and Gail (Houck); three wonderful grandchildren; and two very special great-grandchildren. She was nurtured by her family and the gift of both the Peaks and Hospice care.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass was celebrated for Pearl on Saturday, March 5, at the Guadalupe Catholic Church, Father Patrick Mowrer presiding. Her interment was at Calvary Cemetery.
