The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Wednesday, March 09, 2011 Marlene Elsie Holfoth Schmidt of Canandaigua, N.Y., and Wickenburg, Ariz., went to her savior on Feb. 20. Marlene was one of four children born to Ernest and Viola Holfoth of Mendon Center, N.Y. Marlene is predeceased by her husband Charles Schmidt, brother Ernest Holfoth Jr. and sister Charlene Bilow. She is survived by her sister Sonia Bunting of Wickenburg, and sister-in-law Shirley Holfoth of Hamburg, N.Y. Also surviving are dear friend and companion of 16 years Frank Warner, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends. Marlene was born on May 20, 1937 in Mendon Center, N.Y., was a physical education teacher, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed travel, tennis, golf, gardening and animals. A celebration of life service will be held this spring at The United Methodist Church of Clifton Springs, N.Y. Donations of remembrance in Marlene’s name may be made to The Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014. Arrangements are by David’s Desert Chapel Funeral Home.
