ORR, Gary William

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, November 04, 2008 Gary William Orr passed away on Nov. 1, 2008, in Rimrock, Ariz. He was born on Feb. 25, 1945, in Prescott, Ariz. Gary was raised on a ranch outside of Mayer, Ariz. He was a graduate of Orme School, where this fat boy played football. He raised four daughters in the Verde Valley and later one in the Phoenix area. Gary traveled to Venezuela where he used his carpentry skills, then returned to Arizona to work and play golf in semi-retirement. He was an accomplished hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors and shared these experiences with his daughters and grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Orr; birth mother Wilda Orr; and sister Maria Swift. Survivors include mother Bea Orr; brothers Jim (Stella) Orr, Pat (Dorothy) Orr and Eddy (Wanda) Biggs; daughters Donna Richards, Kristeen Paul, Lois (Jeff) McCarty, Shannon (Don) Bannister and Sherri Gullispie; Sadie May (his hunting dog); 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Gathering of Friends and Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Hampton Funeral Home, 240 South Cortez St., Prescott, Ariz. Information provided by survivors.
