Willard J. Duddles of Wickenburg died November 15 in Wickenburg. He was 90.
Mr. Duddles was born August 14, 1904 in Ashton, Michigan. He had lived in Arizona for the past eight years, coming from Michigan.
Mr. Duddles graduated with a Masters degree in chemistry from Michigan State University. He served as superintendent of schools in Delton, Michigan, following graduation.
He taught chemistry at Carroll College in Helena, Montana and then became a chemistry professor at General Motors Institute in Michigan in 1944. Mr. Duddles retired as the head of the Chemistry and Metallurgical Department of GM Institute.
Mr. Duddles was an avid trout fisherman. As a boy, he fished in the Cedar Swamps of Michigan and also taught his boys to fish there. He then moved on the much better fishing in Canada in his later years.
Survivors include his wife of eight years, Lois, of Wickenburg; sons Allen Duddles of Meridian, Idaho, Ralph Duddles of Coos Bay, Oregon and Glenn Duddles of Knoxville, Tennessee; daughter Sandra Stitt of San Diego, California; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther Duddles, and his son Ronald Duddles.
Funeral services were held November 17 at Frey Funeral Home of Wickenburg. Pastor Jim Longstreet officiated.
Graveside services were held November 19 at Grand Blanc Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
