The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ November 23, 1994, p. 2 Roy R. Smith of Wickenburg died November 18 in Wickenburg. He was 83. Mr. Smith was born June 19, 1911 in Kansas City, Missouri. He had lived in Arizona for 18 years, coming from Kansas. Mr. Smith was the president and owner of a printing equipment company in Lenexa, Kansas. He was a member of the Saddle and Sirloin Club in Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Smith is a past president of the Wickenburg Regional health Care Foundation Nursing Home Expansion Project. Mr. Smith participated every year in the Desert Caballeros Ride and the Remuda Ride in Wickenburg. He loved his horses, riding, the desert and Wickenburg. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Joy, of Wickenburg; son and daughter-in-law Courtney and Myra Smith of Dallas, Texas; sister, Dorothy McReynolds of Lady Lake, Florida; grandchildren Matthew of Kansas City, Missouri, Bedonna of Portland, Oregon and Marke, Delicia and Lauri of Dallas, Texas; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Gary in 1987. Funeral services are scheduled today (Wednesday, November 23) at 4 p.m. at St. Alban Episcopal Church in Wickenburg. Pastor Dan Gerrard will officiate. Memorial contributions in Mr. Smith’s name may be made to the Wickenburg Regional Health Care Foundation/Nursing Home Expansion Fund, P. O. Box 1388, Wickenburg, AZ 85358. Frey Funeral Home of Wickenburg handled all arrangements.
