George Farrell Reed, MD, 72, of Fayetteville, New York, died November 25 in Fayetteville.
Dr. Reed was born October 25, 1922 in Oswego, New York.
He was a graduate of Syracuse University College of Medicine. After his residency, Dr. Reed was on staff at the Harvard Medical School until 1965 when he joined Upstate Medical Center.
Dr. Reed was a professor otolaryngology. He was executive vice-president and dean of the college of medicine at the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Reed’s specialty within otolaryngology - a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the ear, nose and throat - was head and neck cancer surgery.
Dr. Reed was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy
Funeral services are scheduled today (November 30) in Fayetteville, New York.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Reed, of Fayetteville; four daughters Sally Reed Gonzales of Alexandria, Virginia, Lucy Reed of New York City, Nancy Reed Dann of Chicago and Margaret Reed of Wickenburg; and grandchildren Zachary Dann, Kevin Dann, Madeleine Clennon, Peter Clennon and Seven Gonzales.

Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg handled all local arrangements.
