John J. Brunner of Wickenburg died December 7 in Wickenburg. He was 86.
Mr. Brunner was born February 19, 1908 in Ovando, Montana. He had lived in Wickenburg for 26 years, coming from New York.
John and Iva Brunner were married June 30, 1935.
Mr. Brunner was a metallurgist, working as an engineer for a number of different mining companies. He developed the process for separating uranium from gold and had the unusual ability of being able to design the equipment to process the ore. Mr. and Mrs. Brunner moved to Wickenburg in 1968 and became involved with the Zonia Mine in the Wickenburg area.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Iva; daughter Charlotte Brunner of Slidell, Louisiana; a son John Brunner III of Mesa; sisters Ernestine Raider, Lena Q. Sholey and Esther Evans, all of Montana; grandchildren Scott T., Ryan J. and Kalet Brunner all of Mesa, Cynthia B. Halliday of Tucson and Raylena B. Gull of Salt Lake City; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held December 10 at the Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg. John Brunner III was the officiant.
