The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 28, 1994, p. 2 William W. Sykes of Wickenburg died December 17 in Wickenburg Community Hospital. He was 57. Mr. Sykes was born February 11, 1937 in Grand Junction, Colorado. He had lived in Arizona for the past 18 years. Mr. Sykes was a retired 30-year veteran of the U.S. Navy. He belonged to the Order of Locks of the Panama Canal. He served in Vietnam, and was awarded several commendations from the Navy. Survivors include sons Robert of Peoria and Jason of Wickenburg; daughter Barbara Sykes of Wickenburg; his mother Pauline Hallopeter of Grand Junction; and sister, Patty Sykes of Grand Junction. He was preceded in death by his wife Denise in 1988. Private services were conducted. All arrangements were through Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home.
