RYAN,
Connie Sue
(Maiden Name: Porter)
Connie Sue Ryan (Shalaby), 52, of Temecula, Calif., passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Scripps Mercy Medical Hospital in San Diego. Born on Feb. 23, 1959, in Huntington, W.Va., Connie was the daughter of the late Sherman Porter and Anna Mae Hatten Porter.
Connie moved to Southern Arizona in 1980 where she began her 15-year career with Golden Corral. She moved to Kingman in 1982, where she resided for more than 20 years, many of which she spent greeting customers at the Golden Corral Restaurant she owned and operated with her husband, Sam Shalaby. Later, she would serve as general manager of the Dambar Steakhouse and Maddogs Grill.
Connie remarried on May 18, 2001, to Casey Ryan and moved to Temecula, where she has been enjoying time with family and her two pampered Pomeranians, Teddy and Nemo. Though she battled chronic health problems for the past 10 years, she always had the most positive outlook on life. She never missed a chance to spend time with her family and friends. Connie was a person who truly appreciated the simple things in life. We all love you and miss you very much, Mom.
Connie is survived by her husband, Casey Ryan of Temecula; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Kevin Ott of Kingman; grandchildren, Madison and Cameron Ott; siblings, Ron and Dottie Hatten of Flatwoods, Ky.; Harry and Linda Spangler of Worthington, Ky., and Bonita and Mitchell Webb of Chesapeake, Ohio. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Sean Hatten, Teri Jo Spangler, Joshua Webb, Adam and Ashley Webb; and great-nieces, Brooke and Hannah Webb, and the late Faith Ann Webb.
Services will be held in West Virginia at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova.
