The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ January 4, 1995, p. 2 Ruth Reid of Wickenburg died December 29. She was 72. Mrs. Reid was born in 1922 in Linden, New Jersey. She had lived in Arizona for 52 years, moving here in 1942. She married her husband, Ken Reid, who survives her in Wickenburg in 1949. Mrs. Reid is remembered for her active role as Mrs. Santa Claus for needy children, sponsored by the Elks Lodge. Mrs. Reid is known for her lively personality and sense of humor. She and her husband moved permanently to Wickenburg in 1971 and occupied their home in Country Club Acres known as the “Reid Castle”. In addition to her husband, survivors include a son Randy, of Scottsdale; a daughter, Laura Hollingshead of Spokane, Washington; a brother, Toddy Tamaroff of Phoenix; three grandsons, Josh, Zach and Brain; loving in-lays; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jewish services for Mrs. Reid were conducted New Year’s Day with family and close friends participating. Her ashes will be spread near the family home. The family has only fond memories of Mrs. Reid, and love and prayers are their wishes. Those who wish to donate in Mrs. Reid’s memory are asked to donate to the Elks Lodge Needy Children’s Fund.
