Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Tuesday, March 15, 2011 Dorothy Harriet Hutsell Roberson, 90, died March 11, 2011, peacefully at home in Flagstaff. She was born Aug. 16, 1920, in Nampa, Idaho, one of five children born to Olivea and Fred Hutsell. She spent the first 17 years of her life in Nampa, Idaho, and then moved to California. She attended community college where she took business and clerical coursework. She was employed in the clerical field by US Motors and married Fred W. Roberson in 1952. They relocated in 1960 with their four children to Flagstaff, where they owned and ran the DuBeau Motel and St. Anne Apartments from 1960-77. Mrs. Roberson was also employed by Northern Arizona University, where she worked in the registrar's office from 1972 to 1990, when she retired at age 70. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and volunteered for many years at the History Center of the LDS Church. She was also a member of AARP and the Republican Women, where she held various offices. She volunteered many hours and was an active member of Flagstaff Federated Church since 1960. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed in knowing her. Mrs. Roberson is survived by her children, Shirley Didier of Salem, Ore., Cindy Islas (Eddie) of Tucson, Walter F. Roberson of Flagstaff, and Nancy Martinez (Andrew) of McMinnville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Roberson. A memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m., at Flagstaff Federated Community Church, where she will be remembered for her commitment to family, friends and community. A reception will follow.
