REGAN,
W. Richard
W. Richard Regan entered into eternal life on January 15, 2004. Richard was born on March 5, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York.
He graduated from St. Charles College in 1941 and served in the Navy. After living in Denver, Colorado and Orinda, California he moved his family to Arizona in 1959. In 1967 after receiving a Masters in Lay Theology Richard was employed by the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix in various positions. He was one of ten men in the first class of deacons ordained in 1972. Richard retired in 1987 after serving as Director of the Deaconate.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Bette, daughters Kathi Long (Tom), Monica Regan-Nelson (Brad), and Ellen Hunt (Gerry), and by his sons Kevin, Rick (Cathie), Tim (Jolynn), and Paul who preceded him in death in 1981. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Mark, Brian, and Amy Long; Lisa, Julie, Scott, and Becky Nelson; Rachel and Michael Regan; Matthew and Sean Hunt; and Spencer Regan.
Visitation Sunday, January 18, 2004 at Saint Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church, 1030 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale. A Mass of the Resurrection was offered Monday, January 19, at Saint Daniel's.
