SORDAHL, Marvin I.

Marvin I. Sordahl died January 14, 2004, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Oklee, Minnesota, on January 27, 1928, to Clara and Ben Sordahl. Marvin was a WWII Army Air Force veteran. He came to Arizona in 1948 to attend Arizona State University, and he earned B.S. and M.A. degrees from that institution. He was married in 1949 to Rae Downing in Tempe. He started his teaching career at Yuma Union High School and then taught in the Phoenix Union High School District until his retirement in 1986. Marvin is survived by his wife Rae, a daughter Martha, a son Mark, two grandsons, Jason and Matthew, and two sisters and a brother. Services were held on Wednesday, January 21, 2004, at Shepherd of the Hills Congregational Church, 5524 E. Lafayette Blvd., Phoenix.
