BROWN, Charles (Chuck) A.

Charles and Janet Brown. Charles (Chuck) A. Brown, 82, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away November 23, 2003. Chuck, son of Cora Nell Tucker and Arthur J. Brown, was born in Santa Monica, CA on July 3, 1921 and moved to Arizona as an infant. He served in the Army with 595th Medical Hospital Ship Platoon during WWII and was the Director of Training and Development with the DES. Janet (Jan) R. Brown, 83, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away January 13, 2004. Janet M. Robertson, daughter of Mildred Y. Wallace and Robert S. Robertson, was born on December 15, 1920 in Lowell, MA moving to Tucson, AZ as a young woman from Covington, TN. She worked on the B-24 Liberator during WWII at Consolodated Aircraft in both Long Beach, CA and Tucson, AZ. Jan retired from the Board of Property Tax Appeals. Soon after retirement in the early 80's the "Greatest Generation" couple spent their fall seasons in their "second home" of Ogunquit Maine, frequently joined by their sons Dan and Gordon. Jan was an elegant, gorgeous, impeccably dressed lady, with a smile and a kind word of wisdom for everyone she met; Chuck was a thoughtful, generous man who was quick to offer assistance as demonstrated by his years of service on the BofD of Friendly House. Their four sons, Dan of Florence, AZ, Dennis of South Carolina, Gordon of Phoenix, AZ and Dale of California and Jan's niece Jorjanne Bouchard of Tucson, AZ survive the couple. Their generosity of spirit and infectious enjoyment of life blessed the couple with two additional "sons" Ryan Barbieri of Phoenix, AZ and John Rooze of Scottsdale, AZ and three "daughters" Anne Miller of Mesa, AZ, Vanessa Flores of Eagar, AZ and Heather Smith of Wilcox, AZ. Chuck and Jan's life were wonderful examples of "Let God have you, and let God love you - and don't be surprised if your heart begins to hear music you've never heard and your feet learn to dance as never before". It is great comfort to their extended family and friends to know that after 58 years of marriage this gorgeous couple is once again joined together dancing the night away. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2929 S. 48th Street, Tempe, AZ 85282. Messinger Indian School Mortuary assisted with arrangements.
