She was born on July 10, 1926 in Manhattan, Illinois to Lowry and Johanette (Leber) Evans. Jean attended Momence School for 12 years. She was a retired chef and baker and loved sewing, cooking and the Old Time Fiddlers Association. Jean was a great cook and mom and loved her grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Jim Croft and brother Henry Evans. She is survived by son Merv Schweigert of Hawaii; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
