BOORN, Genevieve (Ginny)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, March 16, 2011, page 6a Genevieve "Ginny" Boorn, 73, of Prescott, Ariz., passed away March 13, 2011. She was born Sept. 19. 1937, in Denver, Colo., to the late Frederick and Estella (Barcelona) Lucero. In 1992, she and her husband, Bob, retired and moved to Prescott. Ginny served as a dedicated volunteer to the Central Arizona Concert Band, often working diligently behind the scenes to assist the band in many different functions. She was a terrific assistant to her husband and band librarian, Bob. She loved music and theater, traveling and socializing with her friends. She will be remembered as a positive, upbeat and friendly woman who had a wonderful sense of humor. Above all, she loved her family very greatly. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Boorn; her siblings, John Lucero of Hardin, Mont., Robert Lucero (Leslie) of Watsonville, Calif., Richard Lucero (Jennifer) of San Juan Bautista, Calif., Edward Lucero of Santa Cruz, Calif., Margaret Lawrence of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Beverly Reikko of Freemont, Calif. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011, at American Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott, Ariz., with a visitation one prior to the service.
