The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Wednesday, March 16, 2011 William Edward “Bill” Shockey, 63, of Beaufort died Saturday, March 12, 2011 of cancer in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. William was born Jan. 16, 1948 in Hamilton, Ohio, son of Walter Idelbert and Helen Mae Watson Shockey. He served his country with honor and retired after 25 years in the U.S. Navy and he was a dedicated employee at Beaufort National Cemetery until his retirement. He is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Shockey and his daughters Regina Shockey and Lois Varnum, all of Beaufort; nine grandchildren: Oscar Eller, Aspen Eller, Melanie Peters, Faith Peters, Gavin Peters and Jacob Peters, all of Beaufort, and Michael Varnum, Brianna Varnum and Aurora Varnum, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; his brothers Walter Shockey and Robert Shockey, both of Wickenburg; and his sisters Joann Davis of Wickenburg and Linda Gardner of West LaFayette, Ohio. Graveside services will be held Thursday (March 17) at 1 p.m. at Beaufort National Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends today (Wednesday, March 16) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home.
