The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ January 11, 1995, p. 2 Charlie O. Hayes of Wickenburg died January 6 in Wickenburg. He was 81. Mr. Hayes was born March 8, 1913 in Lincoln, Oklahoma. Mr. Hayes was the owner and operator of the Wagon Wheel Motel in Wickenburg. Survivors include his wife Mamie V. Hayes of Wickenburg; daughters Maxine Shipley and Claradean Thibodeau; sisters Clara Clemenz, Ala Grubb and Lona Maywald; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services were held January 9 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary. Memorial contributions in Mr. Hayes’ name may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Wickenburg was in charge of all local arrangements.
