Thelma V. Justice of Phoenix, and a former Wickenburg resident died January 7 in Phoenix. She was 71.
Mrs. Justice was born January 16, 1923 in Marion, Iowa. She had lived in Arizona for the past seven years, coming from Arkansas.
Mrs. Justice was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. She was a hospital volunteer and did various crafts for senior citizens’ projects. During her six years in Wickenburg, she was known for bringing her homemade pecan pies to many housebound friends and passing the time playing crossword puzzles with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Justice Jr. in 1987; son Richard in 1952; and sister, Grace Grezel and brother George Knapp.
Survivors include daughters Lucille Burgess of West Virginia, Nancy Lee Davis of Arkansas, Lana Whitaker of California, and Gloria Sexton of Arkansas; son Arthur Sam Justice of Lake Tahoe, California; sister Dorothy Aossey of Iowa; brother Robert Knapp of Colorado; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Private family services were conducted.
