William Lowell Pinson of Mayer died February 24 in Mayer. He was 79.
Mr. Pinson was born October 19, 1915 in Loveland, Oklahoma. He had lived in Arizona for the past 10 years, coming from Oklahoma.
Mr. Pinson worked as a meat cutter for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and auto racing. He raced jalopies at South Mountain Park and Manzanita Speedway, and was No. 1 in the standings at both tracks for four years. Mr. Pinson also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Pinson of Mayer; step-daughter Patti Pinson of Wickenburg; sons Rick, Billy and Ronnie, all of Phoenix and Craig of Cottonwood; step-son Harold Bishop of North Carolina; sisters Leah Hawthorn of Cortes Lake, Pearline Gilbert of Tolleson and Wanda Bird of Camp Verde; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 1) at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th St., Phoenix. Pastor Doug Waltrip will officiate.
Frey Funeral Home and Cremation service of Wickenburg was in charge of all arrangements.
