Laura W. Killman of Wickenburg died March 6. She was 82. Mrs. Killman was born January 25, 1913 in Yuma County. She was a lifelong resident of Arizona.
Mrs. Killman married Floyd L. Killman in May 1928. He preceded her in death in 1985.
She worked seven years at the Welton Elementary School as a bus driver and groundskeeper and 15 years at Wellton-Mohawk Irrigation and Drainage District, until her retirement in 1976.
Mrs. Killman was a member of the Ellton Historical Society, Wellton Pioneer Museum, and an honorary member of the Antelope FFA. She was also a charter member of American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 67. Mrs. Killman was nominated for the Cowboy Hall of Fame and Woman of the year in 1990-91 by the Desert Doves Democratic club.
Survivors include her son Floyd H. Killman, Sr. of Wickenburg; daughter Dorothy L. Hibbard of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
Memorial services were conducted March 11 in Wellton. Mrs. Killman’s cremains were distributed over the Radium Hot Springs and Muggins Mountains, where she grew up.
