Jimbob Maben of Wittmann died March 10 at Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West. He was 71.
Mr. Maben was born April 25, 1923 in Artesia, New Mexico. He had lived in Arizona for 58 years.
Mr. Maben came to Flagstaff from New Mexico and worked as a cowboy for Babbitts Ranch in the Flagstaff area. He met and later married his wife Otha on August 20, 1942 in Flagstaff.
The couple moved to the Wickenburg area in 1952, where they raised their seven children. In 1952 he became a truck driver for different trucking companies, retiring from Saguaro Petroleum Trucking Co. in 1967. Mr. Maben was an avid CBer, and his handle was “Big Jim.”
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Otha, of Wittmann; son James T. Maben of Wittmann; daughters Cheryl Snyder of Prescott, Veronica Delahaut of Wittmann, Patricia Layton of Wickenburg, Joyce Maben of Wittmann, Cynthia McCauley of Surprise and Roberta Brooks of Salem, Oregon; brother Currie Maben of Clovis, New Mexico; cousins George Maben of Flagstaff and Ethel Mae Phelps of Las Vegas, Nevada; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday (March 25) at the Morristown Baptist Church. For more information about the service call 602-584-5574.
