L. Phillip Silleman of Circle City died March 4 in Del Webb Memorial Hospital in Sun City West. He was 77.
Mr. Silleman was born July 8, 1917 in Cherry Creek, New York. He had lived in Arizona for the past 23 years.
He married his wife Ann, who survives him, on June 1, 1937.
Mr. Silleman was a police officer for the City of Gowanda, New York from 1946 to 1953. He was then elected Justice of the Peace in the city of Perrysburg, New York from 1953-1970. Mr. Silleman was retired from the Department of Mental Hygiene in Gowanda after 35 years of employment. He and his wife moved to Arizona in 1971 as winter residents.
Mr. Silleman was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Masonic Lodge for 53 years and the Shriners, all in Gowanda, New York and also the Shriners in Wickenburg.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Deanna Denea of Perrysburg, New York and Dorothy Hefner of St. Petersburg, Florida; grandchildren Mark and wife Mary Denea of Perrysburg, Michael Denea of Phoenix and Natalie and husband Christian Holms of Monroe, North Carolina; great-grandchildren Tanya, Timothy and Trisha Denea, all of Perrysburg; and a sister, Dolores Le Barron of Cherry Creek, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William R. and Blanch Wood Silleman and his sister, Margaret Young, in 1975.
Services were held March 6 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Wickenburg. Rev. Dan Gerrard officiated. Inurnment was in the Memorial Gardens at St. Alban’s.
Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled all arrangements.
