STACY, Ione (Micky)

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ March 22, 1995, p. 2 Ione “Micky” Stacy of Wenden died March 13 in the Wickenburg Nursing Home. She was 84. Mrs. Stacy was born January 27, 1911 in Leadville, Colorado. She had lived in Arizona for the past 25 years. Mrs. Stacy moved wither family at an early age to Kamloops, Alberta, Canada where she attended elementary school. Later, the family moved to Butte, Montana where her father was a miner. She graduated from school in Montana and met and married her husband Charles W. Stacy, in Twin Bridge, Montana in 1928. Mrs. Stacy and her husband would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on March 19. She and her husband were winter visitors from Idaho but retained their permanent home in Wenden for the past 12 years. Mrs. Stacy was an active member of Rebekah Lodge No. 119 in Pierce, Idaho, holding each respective office. She was an avid camper and retained a true pioneer spirit until ill health forced her to end her traveling and mining activities. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Delores and Bill Schmadeka of Lewiston, Idaho; son and daughter-in-law Leland and Mona Stacy of Wenden; son and daughter-in-law Elwood and Jean Stacy of Pierce Idaho; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Rodney and her parents, George and Alice Bigelow. Graveside services were held Friday, March 17 at the Wenden Cemetery. Bill Root Jr. officiated. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled all arrangements.
