The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ March 29, 1995, p. 2 Helen Smallen of Wickenburg died March 25 in Wickenburg. She was 96. Mrs. Smallen was born July 16, 1898 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. She had lived in Wickenburg for the past eight years. Mrs. Smallen worked for the government during World War II. She lived in Wyoming and Montana as well as Michigan during her life. She had worked as a schoolteacher for awhile in Montana before settling in Arizona in 1987. Mrs. Smallen enjoyed bridge and was an avid player, and a loving mother. She is survived by her son, Jessie G. Henderson and his wife, Betty; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, March 30 at the Wickenburg Cemetery. Pastor James Longstreet will officiate. Brown’s Wickenburg funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
