Willa “Ann” (Corliss) Terhune, 86, of Carson City, Nev., died in her sleep at Mountain Springs Assisted Living Community March 5, 2011. Ann was born May 24, 1924, in Hebron, Neb., to Ruben and Maude (Miller) Corliss.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert B. Terhune; her parents; brother, Mirza Corliss; and sisters, Roberta Corliss Eichman and Beth Corliss Davis. Among her survivors are son, Robert R. Terhune; daughters, Terry (Robert) Amundson-Terhune, Patricia Sue Terhune Brown and Kathryn (Mike) Terhune Urban; sisters, Jane Corliss Lee and Dorothy Corliss Trickey; sister-in-law, Patricia Terhune Wergin; and granddaughters, Alexandria and Andrea Urban.
Ann lived with her husband, Bob, in Lake Havasu City for 30 years. She was a practicing nurse into her 70s. She graduated from Hebron High School in 1942. She graduated from Saint Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in Lincoln, Neb., and continued her professional education in ongoing participation in seminars and certifications during her 50 years as a Registered Nurse.
Ann was outgoing and loved people. After the death of her husband, she traveled, sharing her time with her children and family as well as friends. She lived in Carson City with Terry and Rob spending time with her daughter Kathy’s family enjoying her granddaughters. She spent time in Riverton, Wyo., with her sister, Beth Davis, and her children who reside in the area. She would spend several months in Savannah, Ga., with her daughter Patty Sue and son-in-law Fentress Brown. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends in El Paso, Texas, once a year.
Ann and Bob raised their family in Nebraska, Colorado, Massachusetts, Texas and Arizona. Ann had friends all over the USA and enjoyed visiting and communicating with all of them. She achieved her dream of traveling to France with her daughter Patty in 2007, visiting Normandy where Bob participated with the 101st Airborne as a paratrooper on D-Day. She was delighted for the opportunity to see Paris. She loved spending time with her granddaughters and enjoyed all time spent with family.
