David Ronald Yung, 42, suffered massive heart failure and passed away the morning of Thursday, March 10, 2011. David was born Nov. 6, 1968, in Enumclaw, Wash., and moved to Albany, Ore., in 1969.
He grew up in a close-knit community, surrounded by his loving family, which included his mother, father, and sister.
His grandparents and great-grandmother lived within walking distance, with other extended family close by. David moved to Golden Valley in 2003 to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and be closer to his parents who had retired to Golden Valley in 2001.
He was employed by Guardian Fiberglass until he went to work at Arizona State Prison MTC in June 2007. David started as a guard, eventually attaining the rank of Sergeant.
David loved his family and friends. He had the special ability to form great friendships, and keep those relationships thriving, be they friends from Albany, Golden Valley, or his numerous travels.
David was outgoing, adventuresome, and had a personality that was bigger than life. He loved to try new things, and he lived his life with humor and fun. David was quick with a smile, be it friendly or mischievous.
He had a wonderful laugh and always had a story to share. In keeping with his generous spirit, David was an organ donor.
David is survived by his parents, Ronald and Linda Yung of Golden Valley; his sister, Aleah Yung Schutze of Los Angeles; his niece, Isabella Schutze; his partner, Sharra Bacon; and his numerous friends.
A memorial and celebration of David's life will be held beginning at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, at the Golden Valley Baptist Church, 100 S. Higley Road. David will be returned to Albany and buried in a family plot at the Palestine Cemetery.
