The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ April 5, 1995, p. 2 Vern A. Johnson of Congress died March 29 in Congress. He was 93. Mr. Johnson was born September 6, 1901 in Sylvia, Kansas. He had lived in Arizona for the past 14 years. Mr. Johnson moved to the Congress area in 1980, living there with his wife and his two sons. He wife Bessie preceded him in death in December 1984. Mr. Johnson stayed active by working with woodcrafts and acrylic desk ornaments. Survivors include his sons Vern C. Johnson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Larry Johnson of Congress; four grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Memorial services were held April 1 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Milton Ensley officiated. Contributions in Mr. Johnson’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 7038, Arizona Affiliate, Phoenix, AZ 85011. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
