Margaret Irene Pratt of Wickenburg died April 4 in Wickenburg. She was 89. Mrs. Pratt was born July 5, 1905 in Colonia Dublin, Mexico. She had lived in Arizona for the past 66 years, coming here from Mexico.
When Mrs. Pratt was 5 years of age, the revolution in Mexico forced families from the United States living there to exodus. She grew up in Utah with 12 older brothers and sisters.
While visiting relatives, who had returned to their homes in Colonia Dublin, Mexico, she met her husband Emerson Pratt. The couple was married January 1, 1923. In 1929, the Pratts moved to Mesa with their three daughters. Two more children were born in Mesa. In 1939, the family moved to Phoenix and in 1980, Mr. and Mrs. Pratt moved to their home in Wickenburg.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Emerson W. Pratt of Wickenburg; daughters Marjorie Peterson of Tucson, Bobbie Tanner of Gilbert, Glenna Woodward of Phoenix and Maurine Colgrove of Wickenburg; a son Wayne Pratt of Phoenix; 27 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. Pratt was preceded in death by her parents Edson D. Porter and Catherina A. Carling.
Services were Monday, April 10 at the LDS church in Wickenburg. Bishop Max Colgrove officiated. Burial was at Greenwood Memory Lawn in Phoenix.
Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Wickenburg was in charge of all arrangements.
