The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ April 19, 1995, p. 2 James C. Hopper of Salome died April 12 in Parker. He was 81. Mr. Hopper was born May 25, 1913 in Bourbon, Kansas. He had lived in Arizona for the past 19 years, coming from Colorado. Mr. Hopper worked as a senior roller at Colorado Fuel and Iron in Pueblo, Colorado for 40 years. He was a member of the Wenden Bible Church. He and his wife Dorothy enjoyed dancing at Quartzsite. Mr. Hopper is survived by his wife of 14 years, Dorothy, of Salome; daughter Lorna Hartley of Pueblo, Colorado; step-daughter Beverly Kurth of Salome; step-son Richard Drach of Delaware; sister Audrey Minogue of Pueblo; brother Dale Hopper of Pueblo; grandchildren Arlene Brunnhoelzl of Palmer, Alaska, and Randy Smith of Anchorage, Alaska; and three great-grandchildren of Alaska. He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Maude Hopper. At Mr. Hopper’s request, his cremated remains will be scattered by air over the southwest rim of Rich Hill in the Stanton-Octave area at a later date. Memorial contributions in Mr. Hopper’s name may be made to the Wenden Bible Church. Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Wickenburg handled all arrangements.
