The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ June 28, 1995, p. 3 George Thompson Hawkins Sr. of Wickenburg died June 23 in Peoria, Arizona. He was 89. Mr. Hawkins was born July 15, 1906 in Coffeyville, Kansas. He had lived in Arizona for 78 years after moving from Kansas at the age of 10. Mr. Hawkins was a farmer all his life. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha; son Don Hawkins of Hillside, Arizona; sisters, Mildred Walmsley and Alice Stallings, both of Phoenix; six grandchildren; and niece Jean Weekes of Prescott. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 28) at the Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg. Pastor Gary Golike will officiate. Private burial will follow at the Congress Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Wickenburg was in charge of all local arrangements.
