The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 10, 1995, p. 2 John E. Mitchell of Wickenburg, died May 3 at his home in Wickenburg. He was 81. Mr. Mitchell was born April 3, 1914 in Walden, Colorado and was raised in that community, located in the North Park region of Colorado. He had lived in Wickenburg since 1982. Mr. Mitchell was a restaurant and bar owner in Walden. He served the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was discharged at war’s end as Metalsmith First Class. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Mary Mitchell of Leawood, Kansas; and two grandchildren, Scott and Andrew Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth in 1986 and a son, Jack, in November 1991. Private family services were held Friday, May 5 at Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Wickenburg.
