Harry D. Watkins died May 13 in Wikieup. He was 78. Mr. Watkins was born October 17, 1916 in Davis, Oklahoma. He had lived in Arizona for most of his life, coming to the state when he was a youngster from Oklahoma.
Mr. Watkins was a general contractor and had his own excavating company. He was also the water superintendent for the Town of Parker for 10 years.
Mr. Watkins enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed mining and collecting antique mining relics as a hobby.
Mr. Watkins is survived by his wife of 50 years, Evelyn, of Wikieup; daughter Christine Walker of Wikieup; son Dan Henry Watkins of Boulder City, Nevada; sisters Corina Pitts of Wickenburg, Jackie Furman of Blyth, California, Elinor Green of Hayden Lake, Idaho, and May Hertwick of Riverside, California; nephew Carl Roland of Parker; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday (May 19) at the Parker Cemetery.
Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of all arrangements.
