LONG, Ethel Elmira


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 24, 1995, p.3 Ethel Elmira Long of Wickenburg, died May 15 in Wickenburg. She was 85. Mrs. Long was born August 18, 1909 in Tacoma, Washington. She had lived in Arizona for the past 11 years. Ethel and Claude Long were married in 1968 in Chinook, Washington. She was then employed for many years with the U.S. Postal Service, where she was a clerk and occasionally served as postmaster. Mrs. Long was given several awards for outstanding performance and dedication during her postal service career. Mrs. Long belonged to the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing golf and gardening. She also enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family, and will be missed by her family and all who knew her. Survivors include her husband, Claude E. Long of Wickenburg; daughter Shirley M. Wade of Wickenburg; two grandchildren, Rick T. Wade, serving in the Air Force in Tucson, and Leanne D. Owen of Miami, Florida; and four great-grandchildren. Services were Friday, May 19 at Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home. Pastor Robert Goldenberg officiated. Burial followed in the Wickenburg Cemetery. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
