The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 31, 1995, p. 2 Vivian Walker Moore of Phoenix and a former longtime Wickenburg resident, died May 25 in Phoenix. She was 82. Mrs. Moore was born October 10, 1912 in Prescott. She was a lifelong resident of Arizona. Mrs. Moore was born in Prescott and raised in Tucson. Her father, George, was a well-known miner in Castle Hot Springs. She worked in the round house of the Santa Fe Railroad during World War II in Williams. Mrs. Moore was one of the first licensed beauticians in Arizona. She worked in beauty shops in Tucson, Williams, Yarnell, 20 years in Winslow, and Vivian’s Beauty Shop in Wickenburg. Hers was the first beauty shop to open in Yarnell. She won numerous awards for her work as a beautician and for her needlework. Mrs. Moore was a perfectionist in her work and in her hobbies. She was very creative, working in ceramics, sewing, crochet, dance and Kachina dolls. She would collect and repair old china dolls and clowns. She would also fashion dolls to resemble family members. Her family remembers her as the best cook, specializing in cakes, candies and fudge. Survivors include her son, Howard Walker of Wickenburg; sisters, Ella Barrick and Frances Pfeil, both of Wickenburg; brothers Edwin Dillard of Wickenburg; Jack Dillard of Tucson, and Clifford Dillard of Bullhead City; grandchildren Howard “Mitch” Walker of Wickenburg, Heather Walker of Wickenburg, Sherree Walker of Phoenix, and Rowana; three great-grandchildren; and 10 nieces and nephews. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by two husbands, Joseph B. Moore, and Howard Walker. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 1 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bishop Max Colgrove will officiate. Burial will be in the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Arizona Division Inc., Wickenburg Unit, P.O. Box 1975, Wickenburg, AZ 85358. Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of all arrangements.
