Clifford Franklin Pollay of Wickenburg died June 7 in Sun City West. He was 82. Mr. Pollay was born November 7, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois. He had lived in Arizona for the past 57 years, coming here from Illinois.
Mr. Pollay and his wife Mary founded Pollay Electric in Wickenburg in 1949, and the couple worked together until they both retired in 1989.
Mr. Pollay was the mayor of Wickenburg from 1951-1955. He was also a past president of the Wickenburg Rotary Club.
Mr. Pollay was a member of Kellis-Draper American legion Post No. 12 in Wickenburg, and a former member of Wickenburg Elks Lodge No. 2160. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wickenburg.
Mr. Pollay was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II from 1942-1944.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law Cliff and Nancy Pollay and Joe and Joan Pollay, all of Wickenburg; sisters and brothers-in-law Valerie and Cleve Bundy of Camp Doulas, Wisconsin and Eileen and Don Anders of Countryside, Illinois, and five grandchildren. Mr. Pollay was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, of 54 years in July 1994.
Private visitation was held. Private family services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday (June 17) at St. Francis Cemetery. Fr. David Sharp will officiate.
