Myrtle Louise Gibson of Wickenburg died July 6 in Wickenburg. She was 86. Mrs. Gibson was born may 17, 1909 in Utica, Kentucky. She had lived in Arizona for 63 years, coming here from Akron, Ohio.
Mrs. Gibson was born at her home in Utica, to Coleman B. and Gertrude Rouse. She married J.B. “Gibby” Gibson Jr. September 18, 1928 in Rockport, Indiana.
She moved from Litchfield Park to Wickenburg with her husband and family in 1947 where they purchase and operated the Greyhound Bus Depot and Roundup Café. Mrs. Gibson was the Greyhound ticket agent for 20 years. Mrs. Gibson enjoyed her family, working in her yard, cooking, antiquing and doing volunteer work.
She was a member of the Wickenburg Community Hospital Auxiliary, Las Senoras of the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, Business and Professional Women, and the Order of Eastern Star Hassayampa Chapter No. 35.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by two daughters, Sandra Gibson of Wickenburg, and Jerry and son-in-law Bill Hanger of Yarnell; three sisters, Gertrude Cook and Thelma Wurth, both of Sun City, and Virginia Fullmer of Hollywood California; one brother, William Rouse of Culver City, California; four grandchildren, Nellie and husband Craig Garone of Bakersfield, California, Dixie and husband Rick Ueable of Phoenix, Jeff Hanger of Miami Beach, Florida and Rob Chambers of Playa del Rey, California; and six great-grandchildren, Tyler and Christ Garone, Brandie and husband Jason Birdsong, Trisha and Carolyn Martinez, and Brooke Ueable. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. “Gibby” Gibson, in 1963, oldest daughter, Carolyn Rea Gibson Chambers, in 1968, sister Annan Salmon and brother Earnest Rouse.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 13 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, July 14 from 9:30a.m. at Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Funeral services will be Friday, July 14 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Dan Gerrard will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery with John Henry officiating.

Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of all arrangements.
