Ruth Ellen Boyd
(September 2, 1922 - March 5, 2011)
Ruth Ellen Boyd, 88, passed away on March 5, 2011, at her home in Show Low. She was born on September 2, 1922, in Cotton County, OK, just south of Lawton, to Edward and Bertha (Bearden) Tupper.
Ruth worked as a telephone operator and in photo shops. She developed and printed photos and was very talented at hand coloring photos with transparent oils, but her greatest accomplishment was as a mom and grandmother. She was the glue that held her family together, and she will be greatly missed. She enjoyed crocheting and every time a grandbaby or great grandchild arrived, they would always get an afghan from Grandma Boyd. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved sewing.
She is survived by daughter, Louise (Eric) of Show Low; son, Aaron (Gaylene) of Snowflake; nine grandchildren, Elise (Ed), Stephen (Ronda), Nicole (Glenn), Shawn (Maria), Melissa (Matt), Rebecca (Mat), David (Biz), Kira (Bill) and Logan; 16 great grandchildren and 2 more on the way.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of almost 66 years, Richard Leon Boyd (passed away October 14, 2010), and her parents, Bertha (Bearden) Tupper and Edward Tupper. A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 26, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Show Low, AZ.
