Ralph Kendall Farr of Salome died at his home July 22. He was 84. Mr. Farr was born June 29, 1911 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He lived in Arizona for 58 years, coming here from Pennsylvania.
Mr. Farr was a longtime businessman in Salome and an active community worker. He served in the Army during World War II and jumped with the 101st Airborne Division at Normandy on June 6, 1944. Mr. Farr was also the first recipient of the 50 Year Pin from the Salome V.F.W. Post No. 3708.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wilma of Salome; son Bill Farr of Salome; grandson Chris Farr of Salome; brother Clarence Farr of Stuart, Florida; sisters Helen Hall of Herkimer, New York and Florence Stone of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; and extended family members in Pennsylvania and Michigan.
Visitation will be today (Wednesday, July 26) from 9 to 11 a.m. at Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the mortuary with graveside committal services and burial to follow at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Pastor Ed Wessling will officiate.
Contributions may be made in Mr. Farr’s name to the Tri-Valley Medical Association, Salome, AZ 85348 or to a charity of one’s choice.
