The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ August 30, 1995, p. 2 Mary Jane (Cox) Winters of Congress died August 24 in Congress. She was 53. Mrs. Winters was born August 17, 1942 in Prescott. She was a native of Arizona. She loved gardening, cooking, her family and friends. Mrs. Winters is survived by her mother Pauline Foster of Wickenburg; daughter Sherrill M. Phillips of Glendale; sons James D. “Lucky” Hayes and Ernie W. Cox Jr., both of Glendale; grandson Tanner J. Phillips of Glendale; sisters Sherrill Olson of Cottonwood, Jackie Stanfill of Braggs, Oklahoma, Joann Holmes of Michigan, Mimia Montijo of Parker, Martha Taylor of Okanogan, Washington and Debbie Gardner of Wickenburg; brothers Louis Hayes of Wickenburg and Vernon Hayes of Bagdad; four step-sisters and two step-brothers; numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, September 3 at 1 p.m. at the Wickenburg Elks Lodge. Arrangements were handled by Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home.
