Marian Crehore Beesley, of Indianapolis and a former winter visitor of Wickenburg, died August 30 in Indianapolis. She was 88. Mrs. Beesley was born in 1907 in Elyria, Ohio.
Mrs. Beesley was a homemaker and former chemistry teacher at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, member and former officer of the Carolyn Scott Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, former member of the Lassies of the Salvation Army, past president of the Neofite Garden Club, and a member of the Meridian Hills Country Club and the Hunt Club. She was a 1929 graduate of Maryland College for Women in Baltimore.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Lou (Needham) Hurst; son Mark C. Beesley; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene N. Beesley, former president and chairman of the board of Eli Lilly Co., and past president of Lilly Endowment.
Services have been held in Indianapolis with entombment at Crown Hill.
