The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ October 11, 1995, p. 2 Alvie J. Ballard, of Yarnell, died October 5 in Prescott. He was 68. Mr. Ballard was born April 14, 1927. He had lived in Yarnell for nine years, moving here from Flagstaff. Mr. Ballard was a workaholic. He was proudest of his mechanical ability. Mr. Ballard worked as a mechanic for the IBEW Union Hall No. 476. He liked to work around the yard and enjoyed his garden. He was a fisherman and hunter. Among his favorite fishing holes were Lake Powell and San Carlos Lake. Mr. Ballard was a member of American Legion Post No. 79 in Yarnell and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his daughter Benita Petrus of Yarnell; daughter and son-in-law Diana and Dave Gail of Glendale; son Allen Dale of Yarnell; sister Kathryn West of Tillar, Arkansas; granddaughters Jennifer, Dusty, Sandi, Sabrina and Bellena; and great-grandson Stephan. Graveside services have been held at Genung Cemetery in Peeples Valley. The Rev. Don Crider officiated. Arrangements were handled by Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home.
