HOFFMAN, Ray Steely


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ November 1, 1995, p. 2 Ray Steely Hoffman, of Wickenburg, died October 27 in Wickenburg. He was 56. Mr. Hoffman was born January 6, 1939 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He had lived in Arizona for 43 years, coming here from Pennsylvania. Mr. Hoffman was a graduate of Wickenburg High School. He was a member of the Wickenburg R.C. Flyers Club and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1961-1963. Mr. Hoffman served as a police officer in Wickenburg for 13 years. He was an avid bowler, and is the only person to ever bowl a 300 game in Wickenburg. He also enjoyed auto racing. Mr. Hoffman’s hobbies were flying remote control aircraft and model railroads. He is survived by close friends Wayne Backus and Joe Bishop. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Hoffman. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 1) at Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, with graveside services and burial to follow at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Pastor Robert Goldenberg will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Hoffman’s name to In Home Health, 2019 W. Wickenburg Way, Wickenburg, AZ 85390. Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service handled all local arrangements.
