VAN BRUNT, Wallace (Stub)


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ November 8, 1995, p. 2 Wallace “Stub” Van Brunt, of Wickenburg, died November 4 in Wickenburg. He was 72. Mr. Van Brunt was born January 12, 1923 in Spokane, Washington. He had lived in Wickenburg for 46 years. He joined the Navy in 1942, serving as a Boatswain’s Mate Second Class, in World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Van Brunt worked for CMC Transport, was president of the Cock-n-Bull Coffee Club, past president of the Maricopa County 4-H Leaders Council, past area director for the Junior Rodeo at Gold Rush Days, and was a member of the Wickenburg Roping Club. Mr. Van Brunt also was a member of the Masonic Lodge Hassayampa No. 37. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Liz, of Wickenburg; daughter and son-in-law Susie and Brad Carter; sons and daughter-in-law Gary and Alissa, Ross and C.K.; sister Faye Aposal; brothers Jerry, Bill and Jack; seven grandchildren; niece Peggy Dean and numerous other nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 8 (today) at Wickenburg Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Custer will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Van Brunt’s name to the American heart Association, 2929 S.48th St, Tempe, AZ 85282. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled all arrangements.
