Connie Lee Rencher, 61, of Altus, Okla. died Monday, March 21, 2011, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was born June 1, 1949, in Tooele, Utah, to Donald Warren and Helen LaRee (Ashworth) Stewart. She graduated from Tooele High School in 1967 and was the head twirler there. She then attended college for three years. Connie married Don S. Rencher Sept. 5, 1969, in Manti, Utah.
Don and Connie moved to Altus in 1999, where Don worked in civil service at the Altus Air Force Base. Connie loved all kinds of crafts and was an excellent public speaker for her church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Preceded in death by her father, Donald Warren Stewart and an infant son.
Connie is survived by her husband, Don Rencher of Blair; mother Helen L. Stewart of Tooele, Utah; five children: Heather Woodland (Jason) of Roswell, N.M., Rebecca Cox (Michael) of Provo, Utah, Alan Rencher (Jennifer,both of Provo, Utah, Dale Rencher (Heather) of Taylor, and Glen Rencher (Angela), both of Taylor; brother Warren Stewart of Tooele, Utah; 13 grandchildren: Madeline Cox, Nicholas Cox, Dylan Cox, Grant Rencher, Nathan Rencher, Taylor Rencher, Grace Rencher, Samantha Rencher, Colin Rencher, Patrick Rencher, Clyde Rencher, Slade Rencher, and Kaydence Rencher.
Funeral services for Connie were held Thursday, March 24, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Altus where Bishop Wesley Barnes and former Bishop Robert Duckworth officiate. Graveside rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the Eagar Cemetery in Eagar.
