Marion L. Brandon of Wickenburg died April 23. She was 78. Marion was born on November 9, 1919 in Fremont, Nebraska. She had lived in Arizona for 18 years.
Marion attended Steven’s College in Missouri and also attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She was the first woman to hold a private pilot’s license in Nebraska.
She enjoyed riding horses with the Las Damas riders in Wickenburg. Marion was a member of the Eastern Star in Valley, Nebraska, as well as being a member of the Las Damas in Wickenburg.
Survivors include her companion James Crawford of Wickenburg; daughter Sarah and son-in-law Dr. Gary L. Wurtz of Valley, Nebraska; and grandchildren Justin, Jennifer, James and Jeremi, all of Nebraska.
Private services will be held.
Marion’s family would like any contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society-American Division, Inc., Wickenburg Unity, P. O. Box 1975, Wickenburg, AZ 85358 or to the Alzheimer’s Association-Greater Phoenix Chapter, 2323 S. Hardy Dr., Tempe, AZ 85282.
Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wickenburg handled all the arrangements.
