Robert Edward Johnson, 63, of Flagstaff, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family and under the kind care of Hospice Compassus. Mr. Johnson was born on March 15, 1948, in Chicago to Bernard and Mildred (Seidel) Johnson. Mr. Johnson was in the U.S. Air Force and honorably served during the Vietnam War. He had lived in Arizona for 31 years, working as an IT systems programmer and manager until his retirement.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Flagstaff; daughters Elizabeth Johnson and Nicole Johnson; sons Michael Johnson and Fred Dominy; stepdaughters Melissa and Shannon Vanderbeck; mother Mildred; sisters Gladys and Glynis; brothers Ted, Don and Fred; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be Sunday, March 27, at 3 p.m. at Lozano's Flagstaff Mortuary, 2545 N. Fourth St. Veterans honors will be rendered by the Flagstaff Veterans Organizations. Mr. Johnson will be buried on Monday, March 28, at 1:30 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, in Phoenix.
