Gilbert M. Melendez, a retired machinist and former Wickenburg resident, died in Glendale on May 15. He was 70.  Mr. Melendez was born in Los Angeles, California on May 27, 1927.

Survivors include his second wife, Peggy; three sons; seven daughters; and several grand and great-grandchildren.  

Private family services were held at the Box Canyon, which was officiated by one of his many nephews.
