Grandmother treated each of us in a special way, loving unconditionally and included us in prayers daily without fail. Her special stories on family life, and the legacies from her mother, and from her other relatives in Mexico and Tucson were intertwined and passed on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her genuine hospitality was gift she inherited from her mother, grandmothers, and extended family. The Macias Family home was open to all, her children’s friends, neighbors and relatives who lived in Wickenburg and those who traveled from Tucson, Phoenix and out of state…knew they would have a welcome reception and visit with Manuel and Chonita.
She was a loyal and dedicated friend to all, servicing her family and church throughout her life…the shared memories we have of her will enable us to go on, knowing that she is in a much better place, without ills and at peace.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 8 with a Catholic Rosary at 7 p.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel followed by Mass on Tuesday, June 9 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wickenburg, with Father J. Saul Madrid officiating. Interment is at the Wickenburg Cemetery.
